I currently play a Brannen-Cooper 14k gold flute with a Lafin headjoint. This was a present from my Grandmother. I absolutely love it, it has a wonderful sound. I am currently working on Fantasie Brilliante on themes from Bizet's Carmen by Borne and also on La Flute de Pan by Mouquet. I really like both these pieces.
I have been studying with Lisa Nelson for almost nine months as a private pupil. She is a great teacher. I'm principal flute of a local youth orchestra and we are going to Lake Garda in July.
I would like to sell my previous flute, which is a solid silver Nomata. It has a very warm tone and has been an excellent flute, it is only two years old and I thoroughly recommend it. The make is not widely known but it is extremely reliable. Please send a message via Ben on the site if you are interested.
My hobbies, other than music, are art, photography
and cooking. Some of my recent photos are shown here.
I hope that you enjoy them. I love my dog, a Sheltie
called Mattie, and our cat, Master, who is a Ragdoll cat with
a lot of attitude. Mattie is very fond of music, she often
sings to the clarinet, but only to a few of her favourite
pieces. When Ben and I play duets she sits on my feet
and sings at the top of her voice. As a result of this
Ben and I cope with distractions well! We play a lot of table
tennis and tennis together.
Below is a selection of some of my favourite
photographs.
